Sam bustled around the kitchen of the New York City appartment happily as she set the Kerug coffee maker on 'brew'. You would never guess that at one point in her life that she hated mornings. Today, Sam was up early. It was a normal Saturday where she would wake up early before her husband just to make him his favorite breakfast. Music played in the background as she hummed along. Elvis, their dog, laid on the floor in front of the stove with his nose in the air as bacon sizzled in the pan on the stove. Sam laughed.
"Not ready yet, boy."
"Hey, Sam?!" her husband called from the bathroom with the shower still running.
"Yeah, babe?"
"Can you please get my towel...I left it laying on the bed along with my cloths." Sam giggled and headed for bedroom gathering up his towels, and cloths, and then the bathroom opening the door slightly.
"Here, babe." His head peaking through the shower curtain. His curls laid in a wet, moppy mess on his head.
"Thanks, Angel. What would I do without you?"
"Um..you'd probably be walking around drip drying." She smirked slightly.
"Ha ha. Funny." He then sniffed the air.
"Bacon! Bacon, bacon, bacon..." he said as if he was the dog in the Beggin' Strips comercial. Sam laughed throwing his towel at him.
"Hurry up or else Elvis and I are going to enjoy all of this bacon." Sam smirked hearing her husband laugh as she walked away.
Sam was now preparing hers, and her husbands plates sharing some bacon with Elvis as the music on the radio turned a little higher (http://youtu.be/PpmvIbjYJxs) and her huband's arms snaked around her waist as he sang in her ear.
"Wakin up to love, every morning I've been waking up to love..." Sam giggled kissing his cheek. As he held her rocking her along to the music as they began to dance a little around the kitchen to the music singing along like the crazy people they were at seven in the morning.
"I love you, Nickels." Sam said ralaxing in his arms as the music faded.
"Love you too, Angel." Nick kissed her lips gently before they made there way to the table with their food to enjoy a relaxing breakfast.
After breakfast, Nick, Sam, and Elvis headed for Madison Square Park (a dog park) to enjoy the beautiful morning they had been blessed with. The park wasn't that crowded, just a few random people, and dogs here, and there. Elvis found one of his usual buddies, Stevie, a beautiful Irish Setter.
Nick took a seat on a near by bench. Sam quickly found her spot next to Nick as he wrapped his arm around her.
"Such a beautiful morning huh?" Sam inquired as she watched some birds fly and sing about in the trees above them.
"Not as beautiful as you." Nick answered without any thought or hesitation. Sam looked into his eyes, and smiled. He returned the smile and placed a soft kiss on her forehead. Sam closed her eyes leaning closer into him wrapping her arms around him as she absurbed the moment. The fact that silence can overcome them in a content manner is what was so magical about their relashionship. Actions, not words, was all Sam and Nick needed to know how much they each cared for each other.
"I'm going to miss you ya know, when you leave on Monday..." Sam broke the silence remembering him and his brothers had to depart from New York to California for a few weeks. It was all part of being married to a Jonas Brother, but Sam knew how much Nick loved his life, and never once complained. Even in her vows she stated that she realised she was Nick's second love to his music. And for that, is mostly the reason Nick married her because no matter what, she was always supportive of everything he did even if it did take him half way around the world sometimes. Sam of course had her duties as well and had gained, and held a steady job in New York though being married to Nick, and being involved in the music industry.
"I know." Nick answered with a sigh. "But I promise when I get back I am all yours." He smiled happily
"I like the sound of that." Sam smiled
"And I will make sure Joe takes lots of pictures for you and we will video chat everynight."
"I don't think that should be a problem for Joseph." Sam laughed knowing her brother in law all too well.
"And yes, please promise to call me every night so that I know you are settled down and safe for the night." Sam added
"I promise." Nick said holding out his pinky with a goofy smile plastured on his face. Sam giggled. If only his fans knew how silly, goofy, and childlike he could really be at times. Sam took her pinky wrapping it around his tightly before Nick took her into his arms and into his lap. Sam naturally laid her on his should wrapping her arms around his neck. They both watched Elvis play for the next forty-five minutes before he came back to them with his tongue almost touching the ground.
"Come on Elvis, let's get you something to drink." Nick said standing up and attaching the leash to his dog's collar before taking Sam's hand as she stood up. Sam was never one to just "hold hands" and immediately leaned into Nick's side as he wrapped his free arm around her. They handed back out the way they came in first stopping to let Elvis get a drink.
The rest of the day the couple enjoyed the city by exploring. They stopped at a few music stores, stopped at a dog adoption event saying hi to all the beautiful dogs available for adoption, had lunch, went to see a movie, and simply enjoyed each others company doing whatever they could find to do in such a big city. It was simply a relaxed Saturday which was rare for the two.
Later that evening, Sam was preparing dinner when the phone rang.
"Nick! Can you get that?!" Sam said as she drained some lengueni. Nick was in the livng room watching Sports Center when she heard him mute the TV and answer the phone.
"Hello?...Oh hey, Bro. Not much. Sam's making dinner. No, you aren't interrupting...yeah sure. Yeah come on over. Yup. Ok. See you in a few."
"Hey Sam?"
"Who was it?" Sam inquired
"My brothers. You might want to make enough for 5 of us. They will be here in about 20 minuets or so." Sam signed putting her hands on her hips processing that she would now have five mouths to feed.
"Alright...good thing I always keep extra food in the house knowing your family." She laughed.
"Well, if they are going to be here in 20 minutes, you might want to help me..." Sam looked at him with a set of puppy dog eyes.
"My pleasure!" Nick answered happily.
"Great! Go ahead and get the pasta out of the cupboard, 3 of them, and work your magic. And I am going to need a bigger pot..." Nick laughed knowing well what she ment. Before Sam cooked any pasta, she always broke it in half first. Nick of course could make it look easily without even needing to open the box of pasta.
"Show off..." Sam mumbled as Nick handed her the 3 boxes of ready pasta. Sam opened each pouring them in turning the stove on high.
"Now you can open me three more jars of Alfredo." Sam said pointing to the other cupboard. Nick nodded obediently heading for the cupboard to fetch and open three bottles of alfrado sause while Sam prepared another large pot on the stove. Sam smiled as Nick set the jars on the counter next to where she was working.
"Thank you, Nickels." Sam said in a sing song voice as she kissed her man on the cheek. She poured the alfrado into the pot and stirred it gently.
"Hey, aren't you forgetting something?" Nick inquired standing behind her placing his hands on her shoulders. Sam looked around.
"Oh! The Brocolii!" She said facepalming herself. Nick laughed as she rushed to the freezer fetching the large bag of brocolii.
"I am so glad we have an apartment with a massive kicthen..." Sam said with a laugh as she looked at all the large pots in front of her as she prepared the the brocolii and continued to stir the cheese.
"Mhm..." Nick said into her neck as he wrapped his arms around her. Sam giggled.
"Nick! You are not helping. You know how ticklish my neck is!"
"Mhm..." Nick said continuing to leave gentle kisses down her neck and then back up to her cheek.
"That smells so damn good." He said inhaling the alfrado. Sam smiled. She loved the fact they both shared the same dishes and could easily agree on anything with cheese.
"Ya know I am gonna have to move if you don't want your pasta getting hard..." Sam laughed.
"Mmm...no I'll do it. That's a heavy pot." Nick said kissing her cheek again running his arms along hers before reaching over and picking up the pot, taking it to the sink, and pouring it into a large colunder.
"It's a calinder!" Sam joked. Nick laughed.
"That was one of my favorite episodes to do..." he said recalling the Disney Channel series him and his brothers did.
"You were so cute covered in all of that flower." Sam smiled.
"Honey! I'm home!" Someone called from the entry way.
"Oh! You made me dinner after a long day. Thank you, sweetie." Her brother in law came into the kitchen kissing her on the cheek.
"Joseph!" Sam giggled. Nick just smiled knowing his brother was just being his silly self who liked to pick on Sam all the time.
"Sammy!" Someone came and wrapped their arms around her torso.
"Hey Frankster!" Sam said messing up his hair.
"Mmm...Chicken Alfrado! But I'll pass on the brocolii..." Frankie said scrunching up his nose. Sam laughed as she hugged Frankie and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"Is it my turn yet?" Kevin inquired
"Get over here Kevo." Sam said and Kevin hugged her tightly.
"Nice to see ya, Sis." He smiled
"Iv'e missed you Kevo." Sam said holding him a minute longer. She hadn't seen Kevin in about a month as him and his wife Dani had been busy preparing for their first child.
"I've missed you, too." Kevin said giving her a kiss on the forehead before releasing her.
"Dinner looks amazing." Kevin said just as Joe was stinking his fingers in the cheese sauce.
"Joseph!" Sam tried to smack Joe's hand. He just laughed in triumph as he cleaned his fingers.
"Don't make me hurt you, Joseph." She gave him a stir look before turning to Frankie.
"Hey Frankster, you want to set the table?" Frankie nodded with a smile. These boys were raised to be so respectful.
"Awesome. Thanks, Bud."
"No problem." Frankie smiled heading for the cupboard.
"Not ready yet, boy."
"Hey, Sam?!" her husband called from the bathroom with the shower still running.
